Micronutrient testing can reveal nutrient deficiencies, a condition that arises when the body doesn’t absorb or receive the necessary amount of a nutrient from diet alone. Nutrient deficiencies that can lead to a variety of health conditions are presented below.

• Anemia: This condition occurs when there’s a deficiency in key nutrients like iron, vitamin B12, and folic acid, leading to a reduction in the number of red blood cells or hemoglobin in your blood.
• Osteoporosis: A deficiency of calcium and vitamin D can increase the risk of osteoporosis, a condition that weakens bones and makes them fragile.
• Goiter and Hypothyroidism: Lack of iodine can lead to the enlargement of the thyroid gland, known as a goiter, and cause hypothyroidism, a condition characterized by low production of thyroid hormones.
• Scurvy: A severe vitamin C deficiency can lead to scurvy, a disease characterized by anemia, bleeding gums, and skin hemorrhages.
